In a surprising partnership that breaks conventional forecasts, the game developer has revealed an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Revealed

According to the official announcement, "A strange encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of banned rituals and fearsome changes resonate through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a clandestine cult.

The adventure concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Transformations

The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Items and Bonus Content

Players who finish the quest will acquire an exclusive katana in addition to several objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Special implements
• Survey Corps steed

Latest Free Story Addition

This release also brings the game's third free story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
